Blue Corridor, Salon Residence

The construction of this corridor was designed to reflect our world of interior design, a public space at the boutique fair in Singer Museum Laren; Salon Residence. Within a couple of days we produced this creative oasis to inspire people with something new and unusual. The royal blue color, the gold- and silver-leaf hand-painted chinoiserie, exquisite silks and special furniture pieces give that extraordinary feeling. The charming sofa and club chairs by Donghia are blend with vintage brass items from the ‘Saint Ouen’ antique market in Paris. Inspired by different cultures we chose to select and combine pieces with different origins; Japanese monkeys with ‘Tsuba’ sword designs in the cushions and curtains, checkered woven silk in ‘ruby red’ on the chairs, a Venetian Scheherazade by Fortuny and the American vintage brass finishes. This royal blue corridor was mirroring our endless possibilities in creativity and dare to stand out. “Traveling from South-East Asia to the Middle east and closer to Europe, the feed of different cultures form the backbone for our projects.” Photography by Peter Baas & Published previously by Residence Magazine
